Tommy Hanson pitched 3 2/3 innings giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, leaving the words of Pedro Martinez ringing in my ears. (I just tip my hat and call the Yankees my daddy.) Roy Halladay is indeed human giving up 12 hits, 8 runs, a grand slam to Brian McCann, and blowing a six run lead. McCann suffered an eye injury at the hand of Michael Bourne celebrating the granny. Eric O’Flaherty, Kris Medlen, AND Craig Kimbrel gave up runs, while Chad Durbin was perfect. Phillies, one of the worst offenses in baseball had 15 hits and 13 runs. Braves overcame 6 and 4 run deficits. And finally with Tim Hudson with a bat in his hand as the only guy left to pinch hit, Chipper Jones sent everyone home and ended the Braves eight losing streak to the Phillies with a two run walk-off home run. He was tired and ready for bed- as am I.
