I have been absent. Absent and mourning.
Is this the best way to have gone about handling game four? No, no it’s not, but that’s what I did anyway.
Guys, I am not ready for this. I am not ready for this to be over.
I am not ready for the sweltering summer months and the wistful glances I’ll have to toss at Scottrade as I drive by it every time I head to Busch Stadium.
I am not ready to shift my focus from MY team in the playoffs to someone else’s team in the playoffs.
I do not want this to be over. And yet? It is.
Unfortunately.
But because I am not ready for it, I will not be saying goodbye to this team. Not yet anyway. Give me a couple days to mourn the swift and sudden loss of Blues hockey.
For now, there’s this. The team’s thank you to us.
I say we keep this city blue.
I miss them already.
