About Ann

Here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions that I’m assuming people will ask me. No one’s asked me them yet. This might make me cocky. I’m going with it.

1. How did you become a Blues fan?

Funny you should ask. I’m actually a fairly recent convert to this whole hockey fan thing. My broken heart after the St. Louis Cardinals’ ABYSMAL 2009 playoffs exit encouraged me to ask, “Well, now what do I do?” My good friend quickly responded with, “It’s time to get you into hockey.” This particular friend is from Chicago and is a die-hard Blackhawks fan. He was determined to make me a full-fledged fan of the four feathers, and then he made a mistake. He took me to a Blues game first. It wasn’t just any Blues game. It was this game against the Canucks. It had everything a budding hockey fan could ask for; quick goals, fights, more fights, a David Perron hat trick, everything with the exception of a line brawl (which I did eventually see at a game later that season). I walked out of the Scottrade Center with a dazed look on my face, which caused my friend to speculate, “I just created a monster for the wrong team, didn’t I?” Yes, buddy, yes you did.

Now, being that I am so new to this, I do not by ANY means consider myself an expert. I hope to learn just as much from you as you might learn from me. Give and take, my friends. Give and take.

2. Are you a professional writer?

My goodness, no. I’m actually a biochemist.

3. How are you affiliated with the team?

I’m not. I’ve met a few of the Blues players through various opportunities (Roman Polak has VERY straight teeth), but I am only a fan, just like you guys. I just happened to get an excellent opportunity to write about them.

4. Who is your most hated team in the NHL?

The Red Wings. Detroit can suck it. I feel, though, that here is an opportunity to tell you that due to my upbringing in the hockey world, I do have a large amount of respect for our division rivals to the north. You will not find any Blackhawk hating here.

5. Crosby or Ovechkin?

Ovi. Entirely. I pretty much loathe Crosby, and I won’t lie to you, there were tears shed when he happened to be the one to score Canada’s winning goal in the Olympics.

6. Where do you live?

You can find me in St. Louie.

7. Anything else we should know?

I like to use my CAPS LOCK key, and I refer to the team as “we” and “us.”

People don’t ask me many questions. If you have any, though, you can leave me a comment or find me on twitter here.
