Continuing their Mike Martz Never Existed campaign, the Chicago Bears waived QB Nathan Enderle today after concluding a three-day mini-camp.
Despite the wretched numbers Caleb Hanie put up last season, Enderle didn’t see a single snap (that I can find…I’ve looked. For at least five minutes. Check out his roster page).
I mean, listen, the quarterback is arguably the most important position, and the Bears cannot afford another Caleb Hanie Suck Fest 2011. They need to cut out the fat. They have a solid backup now in veteran Jason Campbell and (so far) have decided to keep Josh McCown.
Enderle was a rookie – fifth round pick out of Idaho in 2011 – that most people were begging get the opportunity to start over Hanie and McCown. He unfortunately never got that chance. Since we never got to see his potential, I can’t predict where he’ll end up, but I do hope another team grabs him and he’s able to start in the NFL.
