Wolfin’ It Down: Canucks Reassign 27 Players

Less than a month after being re-signed by the Canucks,  goaltender Eddie Lack is headed back to the Wolves–along with 22 other Canucks, four of which spent last season in the NHL. Twelve of the players assigned to Chicago, including Lack, finished last season with the Wolves and earned the Midwest Division title as they went into the playoffs: Lack’s fellow goaltender Joe Cannata, centers Jordan Schroeder and Stefan Schneider; left wings Bill SweattAnton Rodin, and Darren Archibald; right wing Andrew Gordon; and defensemen Chris TanevKevin ConnautonYann Sauveand Adam Polasek.

Chicago will also be receiving centers Andrew EbbettAlexandre MalletAlex Friesen, and Prab Rai; left wing Steven Anthony; right wings Zach Kassian, Guillaume Desbiens, and Kellan Tochkin; and defensemen Derek JoslinPatrick Mullen, and Peter Andersson.

Malhotra To Do Pride Parade, Mallet Joins the Club

Today on Canucks in Wonderland…

Today on Canucks in Wonderland, we learn that Canucks forward Manny Malhotra is to march in Vancouver’s Gay Pride Parade on August 15th 2012 alongside former Canucks General Manager.

 

Manny is the 4th Canuck to lend his name to the You Can Play campaign, beside fellow forwards Ryan Kesler and Henrik and Daniel Sedin.

Malhotra then goes on to say (x):

“I’m thrilled to be able to show my support for You Can Play. It’s paramount that equality in sport, and beyond, becomes the norm. Everybody has the right to play the game they love. I am excited to share this message of equality and show my support this Sunday.”

Malhotra and Burke will be marching with the Vancouver Cutting Edges on Sunday the 15th. The Cutting Edges are currently ‘the only gay hockey club in Western Canada.’ (x) So keep an eye out for them on August 15th!

Canucks In Wonderland: Prospects Development Camp 2012

The Roster and Schedule for Canucks Prospects Camp 2012 has been announced!

 

Included in the roster for Prospects Camp 2012 are 3 of the 5 draft picks from the NHL Entry Draft 2012, Matthew Beattie, Alexandre Mallet and the 1st Round Draft Pick 2012 Brendan Gaunce:

Prospects Development Camp will take a total of 5 days, starting this June 29th and goes on until July 2nd 2012, where the 35 prospects on this year’s roster will be split into 2 groups (except on July 2nd) and participate in activities that include doing the Grouse Grind and dragon boating down at False Creek.
