Welcome to Wonderland the Off Season.
It’s that time of year again.
Welcome to that time where rumours are spread, contracts end, contracts are reworked and every fan wishes, hopes and prays that their favourite player chooses to spend another year (or more) with said team.
But in the end it is a business and whatever happens will happen.
And all we can do is hope for the best.
It still doesn’t mean I can’t not like it.
That didn’t make any sense at all.
Excuse me while I angst.
Among this year’s free agents (restricted and unrestricted) include the all important Sami Salo and the you-can’t-bring-him-up-without-bringing-up-Roberto-Luongo one called Cory Schneider. Which you now can’t bring up with out bringing up Swedish Goalie Eddie Lack, who, like Cory, is to become a restricted free agent and can be claimed by another team if we don’t work out a contract with him by July 1st.
Fortunately for us, Canucks dot com has kindly set up a Player Movement Tracker, in order to keep track of who stays (and how long) and who has decided to move on.
Now, in the Canucks Player Tracker, there are several different columns, 2 of which, as seen above are the ‘Recently Signed/Acquired Players’ and the ‘Departed Players.’
Said columns are for, as the titles say those Free Agents who have decided to stay and for who have decided to move on.
It’s very easy to use and of course we have not only this but the people at News 1130 (@News1130Sports on Twitter) for the latest on who the Canucks are working out contracts with.
Coming up on ‘Canucks in Wonderland,’ the 2012 NHL Draft! Who will have the honor of donning a Canucks jersey in this year’s Draft in Pittsburgh? We shall see!
Look forward to it!
