The Flyers and Bruins square off for the NHL’s opening game tonight in Boston. Us Flyers fans not only have to endure the Versus announcers, but more than likely will have to suffer through that ridiculous banner raising ceremony. I’m happy for the Bruins and all (blatant lie) but really, NHL? Did you have to make the only team the Bruins swept in the playoffs, not to mention conference rivals sit through this? Clearly, this is because Bettman hates the Flyers.

All that aside, look for a good game tonight. Last season’s sweep reignited a rivalry that had seemed to cool off over the last few years. Is there any bad blood left between the two teams? Well, we’ll just have to wait until puck drop to find out.

The big question everyone’s looking to see is how will the completely revamped Flyers team work in an actual game? Will the lines continue to click as they did in the preseason? Will Jagr have the stamina to last 82 games?

All questions that cannot be answered by the end of tonight, we won’t know until, at the very earliest, by the end of the week and probably even later than that. One thing I do know is that a repeat of last years playoffs are unacceptable.

Philadelphia: Tom Sestito (Suspension), Jody Shelley (Suspension), Michael Nylander (Groin)

Boston: Adam McQuaid (Illness), Steve Kampfer (Knee), Marc Savard (Concussion)

Jaromir Jagr, PHI: “There’s a lot of people wondering how we’re gonna play. I think we’re gonna be fine. There’s a lot of talent, and for the Flyers fans, I don’t think they should be worried about the future.” — cbssports.com

Coach Claude Julien, BOS: “The famous Stanley Cup hangover that everybody talks about, obviously that’s a real thing. I don’t see why we should be different than anybody else. Where we have to be better is how we’re going to handle it. We need to be ready this year even more than last year. We need to up our game just like every other team is going to up theirs against us.” — cbssports.com

You know the Bruins are in the same conference right? Not the same division.

Bettman hates us simply because we beat up on his boytoy, Cindy Crysby. Like it matters, no fan respects Bettman. Fuck em, and fuck the Bruins.

Yeah, that was just a mistype since I wrote this literally five minutes before I had to go to class, thanks!

Yeah, I’m hoping for a great game tonight from the Flyers, it’ll be fun to see how this completely new team starts everything off.
