Yesterday morning, word came out that Chase Utley was going to speak with media today.  Twitter translated into a press conference, and well, press conferences are all ominous.

Turns out, it wasn’t a press conference, but Utley was made available to the media, and Twitter responded.

There is so much in there that I agree with!  As a math teacher, I sure hope he knows his times tables by now, however, I see plenty of 7th graders that don’t know them at all.

I really agree with Dawn in Philadelphia that this could have all been avoided, but it wasn’t.  Paul’s statement I retweeted because that sums up how I felt.

To sum it all up:

Chase Utley saw a specialist and was given new exercises.  He is taking it extra slow, but will be back sometime this season.  He feels better than he did last year, but it will take time.  There is no set timetable for his return.
