On this day, 83 years ago, a NFL pioneer was born. It’s no coincidence that the late great Al Davis was born on Independence Day & became a revered face of American football.

Al dedicated over 60 years of greatness to his true love, the Oakland Raiders. It’s a brand he started from the ground up; a legendary empire. I believe that even though this team is headed in an entirely different direction now, Al would be proud of how tradition is still being upheld.

Today we remember the gift that Mr. Davis gave to us, Raider Nation: the gift of silver & black, pride & poise, commitment to excellence.
