Good thing Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell got the message and incorporated running back Ray Rice in the offensive game plan against the New York Giants.
Rice had 24 carries, rushed for 107 yards with six catches for 51 yards and one touchdown.
He was rewarded for his performance and named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
Rice was ready to let lose:
“The thing is with me, I was fresh going into that game,” Rice said. “I give my head coach credit; Coach Harbaugh took care of us. He took care of us during the week, and let us guys go out there, practice smart, and when it came to the game, we came out there ready to play.”
It was the third time in his career that Rice was the award; the first time this season.
It was the fourth time this season Rice hit the century mark, he has 1,138 rushing yards on the season.
Rice was also named to the 2012 Pro Bowl. Fans can also vote for Rice to be the FedEx Ground Player of the Week.
