What Not to Wear: Ines Sainz Edition

Some of you might be familiar with Mexican sports reporter Ines Sainz, who is quite popular for not only her coverage on TV Azteca, but for her good looks (she is the self-proclaimed  “hottest sports reporter in Mexico”).

Ines was spotted at Jets practice today wearing this Azure dress, along with some simple white four-inch heels.

Deadspin, which was one of the first sites to post the photo, refers to the dress as cocktail attire. I don’t know too many gals who would be caught dead wearing THAT to a cocktail party but I also don’t know too many gals who would be caught dead wearing that to a football practice.

Nevermind that it’s an ugly dress and it’s not very practical to wear high heels on a field, although plenty of ladies do it.

Am I the only one who ends up with grass, dirt and mud all over them and really, who wants to ruin a perfectly good pair of shoes? (Which these are not).

Not really sure what she was thinking when she put this on.

This story is news (sort of) as Ines got caught up in an unfortunate situation last year with the Jets. Some allege she was sexually harrassed, or at the very least treated improperly, on the practice field and in the Jets locker room following a game.

The Jets apologized for the situation and Ines said she was “not offended,” but it did start quite the debate about how women are treated in the male-dominated world of sports.

So for record, Ines did not feel she was harassed but did admit she was “uncomfortable” via her Twitter. In fact, Ines got pretty upset with the women’s organization that filed the complaint on her behalf, claiming they fueled the story for themselves.

Most were very quick to blame Ines’ fashion choices for her treatment, as she wore “tight” jeans (which really weren’t that bad) to Jets practice and a black dress with a rather low neckline to the game that Sunday.

I will never ever fault a female for being beautiful or blame her attire for being mistreated, but it would certainly help her case to wear something a little more appropriate, because believe it or not, it is possible to a woman be feminine, beautiful, and yes — sexy — and still look appropriate for “work.”

Bottom line, whether you are a Victoria’s Secret model, an Academy Award-winning actress, a reporter for the TV Azteca or an everyday gal, please DON’T wear this to Jets practice.

Great piece. Sainz obviously was looking to make a statement of some type, because it’s nowhere near practical to wear an outfit like that to an NFL practice.

And when she’s gets all the looks from players, she can play the completely innocent role and pretend how she dressed had nothing to do with the players’ actions.

Whenever I wear heels on a field, they sink into the ground and I get stuck.

I’m more worried about the fluorescent orange skintone she’s sporting than the heels she’s wearing. Girl looks like she was attacked with a highlighter.

  5. … Not only do you not wear 4 inch white heels on the football field, you don’t wear 4 inch white heels after Labor Day. C’mon Ines! Get up with fashion!
