I’ve been a Miami Dolphins fan since I was born. I remember screaming “Touchdown!!” at everything good that the Phins would do. Then again, I was like 5 years old, so it’s okay. I still watch the Dolphins every Sunday. I’ve been to a game or two every season in the past few years. Now, please enjoy some tunes that make me think of my Dolphins in one way or another.
1. “Only Wanna Be With You” – Hootie and the Blowfish
I can’t help thinking of the famous lyrics in this song when the Dolphins lose, “I’m such a baby, yea, the Dolphins make me cry.” I saw Hootie and the Blowfish perform this song at Dan Marino’s retirement celebration at what was then Pro Player Stadium. Just click the picture to jam along to the song.
2. “Fins” – Jimmy Buffet
Whenever I hear this song, I want to be sitting on the beach sipping on a piña colada with a little umbrella in it. This song is also played after every Dolphins touchdown. Jimmy also made a version for the Dolphins, which you can watch and listen to below. But here is the original for you to enjoy if you are a true Parrothead.

3. Miami Dolphins Fight Song
You can’t have a Miami Dolphins playlist and not have this song in it. It is a classic. T-Pain also created his own version, which you can listen to here (Click at your own risk. It will make your ears bleed!)
4.”Rainy Days and Mondays” – The Carpenters
The day after a Dolphins loss is always pretty craptastic. You have to go to work and listen to everyone talk about how badly the Dolphins suck bla bla bla. I’d rather pretend the game never happened (just like Sunday’s game against the Eagles… ugh).
5. “Red Solo Cup” – Glee Cast (originally by Toby Keith)
This little tune is for much happier times and will cheer you up after that last song. I think of an amazing time with family and friends tailgating at a Dolphins game with… you guessed it… red solo cups. Actually, on Sunday I went to a BBQ at my husband’s cousin’s house, and we all watched the Dolphins while sipping our drinks from our red solo cups. I picked the Glee version because I am such a “Gleek”. I adore this version. Also, I think Kurt is absolutely hilarious with his confusion towards this song. He is totally thinking, “A song about a cup? lolwut?” While Blaine is enjoying it all. Check out the end for Santana’s tribute to “trouty mouth”. Oh yea, you gotta click the picture for the video for this one too.
Well, that concludes this week’s Tune In Tuesday. Hopefully, those Dolphins will stop making this girl cry.
