With Darvish’s first official start for the Texas Rangers happening tonight against the Seattle Mariners, we thought this would only be appropriate.

You knew I was going to be the person to write this one, right? It’s not like I’m predictable or anything.

With all the speculation about whether or not the Nippon Ham Fighters were going to post him, I had to wonder if Americans were really aware of what they might be getting here if Darvish were to come to the United States. Now that he’s a member of the Texas Rangers, I think it’s even more important to answer that question. He’s got a slider that’s been clocked at close to 90 mph before. That’s pretty hot on its own, isn’t it?
