Anger Management?
Seems Mahiedine Mekhissi-Benabbad got a little physical with a mascot named Appy. The Algerian born runner should have been thrilled with his 8.33.23 run at the European Championships in Helsinki, but in fact shoved the 14 year old girl when she presented him with a gift bag and flowers.
The young girl was said to have been winded and confused as to why she had been pushed by the 2008 Olympic silver medalist. Officials are investigating the matter while the rest of us are wondering if maybe Mahiedine needs to learn a lesson in sportsmanship.
This is not the first incident where the runner has lost his cool. In 2011, Mahiedine was suspended for ten months following an altercation with teammate Mehdi Baala at Monaco Diamond League. If only he had the same attitude as Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt who collided mid-sprint with a flower girl and later was seen apologizing for the incident.
