O’Neal’s Post-NBA Life: Film School and Writing Book

Just call him … Director O’Neal.

Shaquille O’Neal, retired from the NBA with a lot of time on his hands apparently, will graduate from the New York Film Academy’s Film Conservatory, according to the school.

O’Neal received private instruction in directing and cinematography.

Staff and students alike have commented that Shaq has been incredibly humble, funny, and likable and that it has been a thrill having him study with the academy. (New York Film Academy)

In his video diary, O’Neal asks: Why act when you can direct? We’re hoping that doesn’t come to mean, I’m not going to act in the sequel to Kazaam, I’m going to be behind the camera.

On top of going to school, O’Neal has been writing a book Shaq Uncut, scheduled to be released Nov. 15.

According to an excerpt posted by CSNNE.com, he blames Rajon Rondo’s shooting struggles last season on none other than President Obama. O’Neal writes that when Obama jeered O’Neal’s former Boston Celtics teammate, it messed with Rondo’s game for the rest of the season.

Well that explains everything!
