Dark Knight Rises Has Fake Football Action

Batman’s city has a football team.

In The Dark Knight Rises, the Gotham City Rogues face the Rapid City Monuments. Before the players can even finish the first quarter, the villainous Bane interrupts play and effectively ends the game.

Others have pointed out–tongue in cheek–that the movie “ignores real football.” Well, it is a fictional football game after all.

But, what the Rogues do have are a few similarities to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The movie’s football scene was filmed at Heinz Field, and the team’s uniforms are black and gold.

Twitter Thursday: The Dark Knight Rises

I believe this tweet sums it up.

It’s no secret that the biggest movie to be released this summer will be out Friday. I’d make a joke mentioning some other movie, but let’s face it, “The Dark Knight Rises” (TDKR) is the ONLY new movie being released nationwide.

Now some of you likely will go see the movie this weekend or at some point within the next few weeks. Heck, maybe you’re one of the few to go to the midnight showing.

But with all the hype about its impending release, there have been several concerns as the movie prepares to be released.
