Twitter Thursday: A Lesson In Trolling #GoDBacks

Well, I think the Diamondbacks have officially learned all about hashtags and what happens when Twitter users are bored on a Wednesday afternoon.

As pointed out by HBT’s Craig Calcaterra to the vast majority of Tweeters early Wednesday afternoon, any Twitter user could have their tweets seen on the Jumbotron during the Dbacks/Phillies game simply by adding the hashtag #GoDBacks to their tweets.  AUTOMATICALLY.  Obviously, the fun was started by a bunch of Phillies fans (started by Mike Meech, AKA: @meechone).  Let’s just say that people got creative.

Tune In Tuesday: What’s Your NL Baseball Team’s Theme Song?

This week the NL ladies let us know what they thought their team’s theme song should be this season, in case you missed the AL edition of you can see it here.

1.  Arizona Diamondbacks (Snakes on the Grass): Running From Lions- All Time Low- Cat chose this song because “Based on the fact that Kirk Gibson is a perfectionist and all he can say about last year’s winning of the NL West is that it wasn’t nearly good enough. (“Don’t forget, we’ve got unfinished business/ stories yet to unfold/tales that must be retold”). Though, it would be more appropriate if it were “Running From Giants” instead.”

Tune In Tuesday: Post-Season Baseball

I’m Cat and I’m the guest DJ at this week’s Tune In Tuesday.

Today’s playlist is a musical tribute to the Arizona Diamondbacks and is brought to you by the magical feeling of clinching a division, the power of google, and the 4 cups of coffee I consumed to the get through work on Monday. With the proper time to prepare, I will likely, at some point, create a soundtrack for the Dbacks.

That is not what this is.

Allow me to take you on a musical adventure through September 23, 2011. It was almost a foregone conclusion by this point in the season that the Dbacks were going to win the division, but that it could happen at home, against the defending World Series champions and division rivals, made this game kind of feel very meaningful at the time. With songs to summarize each of the innings, I present to you:

Clinching the NL West: The Musical

San Francisco Giants @ Arizona Diamondbacks – 9:40 PM EST

Bottom of the 1st: With 1 out, Aaron Hill triples to left center. And, has to stand on third while he watches both Justin Upton and Miguel Montero strike out swinging. “We’re going down, down in an earlier round, and sugar we’re going down swinging”
