Twitter Thursday: Football Fans, Don’t Fight The Linsanity

We’re not quite two weeks removed from the Super Bowl and if you’re a football fan, you might have already started to slip into an offseasonal depression. If you’re looking for some entertainment in the form of professional athletics, look no further than Jeremy Lin of the New York Knicks. The guy has inspired more puns than, well, anyone I can think of off the top of my head.  The NFL is catching on to the Linsanity, but I’ll get to that later…

First, there was this Valentine’s Day tweet from Rams RB Steven Jackson (Jackson deleted it, but @JohnHashem5T got the screen shot):

Welp, I guess I’ll take the silver lining of this one and just say at least he’s having safe sex.

This morning, Pro Football Talk tweeted an article titled, “Aaron Rodgers calls Mark Sanchez in GQ ‘Embarassing‘.”  The article, written by Michael David Smith, explains how the Packers quarterback pointed to Sanchez’s infamous GQ magazine shot in the white jeans and called it “embarrassing.”

Rodgers was very up-front with his opinion of page 94.

“Look at this.  That’s embarrassing. Page 94 of the GQ thing here. That’s terrible.”

Alright, now hold on a second.

First things first, I LOVE Aaron Rodgers. So, please, don’t accuse me of hating on him or talking smack about it because I respect the guy on and off the field and really, this isn’t about him so much as it’s about everyone who is taking issue with said magazine shoot.
