We may be smack dab in the middle of the NFL off-season, but that doesn’t mean we should neglect our football (that is, “American football,” for clarification) fellas every Monday.
After winning a Heisman Trophy playing quarterback for the Auburn Tigers (no big deal), being selected #1 overall in the 2011 NFL draft (pretty sweet) and taking home this season’s Offensive Rookie of the Year Award (also, no big deal), Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has all but been formally proclaimed the face and future of the National Football League for years to come.
NFL, meet your future face. It looks good.
Cam Newton had what many are calling one of the best rookie seasons we have ever seen, reviving the 2010 2-14 Carolina Panthers to an improved 6-10 in the ultra competitive NFC South.
Cam finished the season with 4,051 passing yards and 706 rushing yards, becoming the first player in NFL history to surpass 4,000 passing yards and 500 yards rushing yards in a season. Newton also ran for 14 rushing touchdowns, the most rushing TDs in a season for a quarterback. Ever.
If that wasn’t impressive enough, at 6’5, 250 pounds with striking features and a gorgeous smile, there are plenty of other non-football things to like about Mr. Cam Newton, too. See for yourself.
And…You’re welcome.
He also cleans up quite nicely. (Gahh – I love a man in a bow tie).
Of course, no Cam Newton photo gallery would be complete without including my personal favorite, from a feature last fall in Interview Magazine. Can someone get me a life size cardboard cutout, please?
As a side note, I’d like to personally thank Cam for the Fantasy Football Championship he delivered me last season. For this, I am FOREVER grateful.
Happy Monday!
