Well, it seems as though another book abut New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez is in the publishing pipeline.
Richard Ben Cramer who wrote the best-selling 2000 biography of Yankee Clipper Joe DiMaggio, “The Hero’s Life,” is now working on a book about Rodriguez tentatively titled, “The Importance of Being Alex: A Life With the Yankees.”
The book isn’t scheduled to come out until April 2014 but according to the New York Daily News, insiders say the book will “highlight the slugger’s exploits both on and off the field.”
Didn’t Selena Roberts already do this?
The Daily News also reports that Rodriguez is cooperating with Cramer — unlike DiMaggio, who refused to — but insiders also say, “There will be things in the book that A-Rod will certainly not like and were never revealed before.”
Is anyone else as confused as I am?
Cramer is said to be writing about Rodriguez’s friendship with Derek Jeter and the 2001 GQ article in which he downplayed Jeter’s playing ability: a story Yankee fans have heard over and over for the past 10 years.
Also said to be included in the book is Rodriguez’s 2009 steroid admission which again, is more stuff people — especially Yankee fans — already know about.
Maybe the “never revealed before” stuff in the book will have more in depth information about Rodriguez’s dalliances with Madonna, Kate Hudson and Cameron Diaz?
Hmm, is it too early to pre order the book on Amazon.com?
