The start times for the B1G-ACC challenge have been released. The Buckeyes and Blue Devils will get the final spot in the challenge.
The challenge, which is in it’s 14th year, used to be regularly dominated by the ACC. The B1G has managed to win the challenge for 3 straight years, however, and the tide has turned a bit. This is evident even more so when taking into account that there are 9 teams ranked in the ESPN.com pre-season poll participating in the challenge with five ranked in the top 9. Four of those top 9 are B1G squads (Indiana, TSUN, Ohio State and Michigan State) with the lone ACC squad being NC State at number 6. Two huge programs in UNC and Duke are conspicuously missing from that list of top 9 teams.
Will the B1G continue the dominance? Who knows? It seemed as if they would never win one of these challenges and now, suddenly, they are flexing their muscle a bit.
