Being a biology major from Washington University in St. Louis and a former biotech researcher one would naturally think I would be writing about the NFL and the St. Louis Rams for a sports blog, right?
In reality, I am a wife, mother of 3 and fantasy football enthusiast who fortuitously stumbled upon this great network of ladies at Aerys Sports.
To the right, I am pictured with one of my favorite sports writers, SI’s Peter King (@SI_PeterKing).
I drove 4 hours from St. Louis to Indianapolis to attend the NFL combine Tweet Up co-hosted by another SI writer, Will Carroll (@injuryexpert), and Mr. King. Both gentlemen were great and took time from their busy night to talk with me. Mr. King was even kind enough to give me a brief shout out in his 02/28/11 SI column Monday Morning QB.
I was also forunate to meet Yahoo and Washington Post writer, Doug Farrar (@SC DougFarrar) and ProFootball Talk and Rotoworld writer, Gregg Rosenthal (@greggrosenthal). It was an amazing experience!
My other interests include food/eating, calligraphy, card making, and playing countless 1 minute games of Bejeweled Blitz (personal high score: 617,500) on my iPhone.
I’ve also been running and doing triathlons for about a year now. So far, I’ve finishing 3 sprint and 1 long distance triathlons along with two 5K’s (3.1 miles), one 10K (6.2 miles), one half marathon (13.1 miles), and most recently the Chicago Marathon (26.2 miles).
What’s next? I’m hoping to finish a half Ironman triathlon in the summer of 2013. (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run.)
