And with the 28th pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select OLB/DE Nick Perry, USC.

Yay! Welcome to the family Nick!

I knew he would be someone that Green Bay would definitely have interest in, and here he is.

I couldn’t be more excited to see what this next season has in store for the Packers and how Nick will be able to contribute.

Adam Schefter says:

Green Bay had success at USC with Clay Matthews. Time to go back there….

Yes it is. And we all know how Clay Matthews has worked out for us…perfectly.

Congratulations Nick Perry on being a first round draft pick, and on becoming a GREEN BAY PACKER! Welcome to Packer Nation! GO PACK GO!

Packers Potential First Round Draft Picks

DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE!

Strengthening the defense is the number one priority for the Packers when looking at potential players to be their number one draft pick.

We gotta get Clay Matthews some help out there!!

This gentleman to the left, DE/OLB Nick Perry of USC, is the player that I seem to be leaning toward the most when asked about who the Packers will draft in this spot..if he is still available.

Of course there are other options as well, but he is the one who I believe stands out the most and will be the best addition to the team. To name a couple others:

Whitney Mercilus, DE/OLB, Illinois, and Andre Branch, DE, Clemson.

Another scenario I would love to see is for Green Bay to draft Courtney Upshaw of Alabama. He had some struggles during the combine, but I know will still prove himself to be an amazing player at the next level. It all just depends on who is still on the board by the time Green Bay gets to their first pick at #28.
