According to ESPN New York, the Jets do not plan to retain offensive coordinator Tony Sparano.
The report also details Woody Johnson’s plans to restructure the front office – including the possibility of hiring a new GM – though the report leads the reader to believe that Tannenbaum and Ryan will be reunited for another year.
Meanwhile, according to CBS Sports, the Jets have hired Jed Hughes of Korn/Ferry – an international, executive search firm – to help lead their search for new GM. This firm also helped them find new president Neil Glatt.

If this plays out as reported the moves will be so misguided.
Tony S. needs to leave but he’s as much a symptom as a cause.
The Jets cannot rebuild within the poor vision that the Tannenbaum-Ryan combination has exhibited. And the opaque character of both men is the worst face that the organization can assemble before a fan base and a press corps that has zero confidence in what they’re told.
Credibility is the by-word of getting back into winning ways and the Jets, including Woody Johnson, have none.
Get a knowledgeable, believable GM and give that person full rein, otherwise the delusion will be exacerbated.
