The Jets have completed their initial roster cuts, announcing that the following players have been released:

WR Joseph Collins, LB Marcus Dowtin, 6th-round draft pick OG Robert Griffin, OL Fred Koloto, OL Matt Kroul, P Spencer Lanning, CB LeQuan Lewis, TE Tarren Lloyd, DB D’Anton Lynn, DB Julian Posey, DL Jay Richardson, WR Eron Riley, LB Brett Roy, QB Matt Simms, DL Martin Tevaseu.

The team later added WR Jordan White, RB Terrance Ganaway, OLB Ricky Sapp, TE Hayden Smith, CB Donnie Fletcher, OL Paul Cornick and WR Royce Pollard to the list.

Other notes:

• Rich Cimini just tweeted that the Jets are looking for tight ends. Seems obvious but with the Jets, you just never know. The team really needs reinforcements at the position, specifically a tight end that can block.
