The New York Jets settled their kicking battle today, releasing veteran Josh Brown in favor of the Jets 2-year starter, Nick Folk. Folk, the 6-year vet, has a career field goal percentage of 78%. The 10-year vet, and newcomer, Brown came into camp with a career field goal percentage of 81%.
Folk outperformed Brown in camp and solidified the kicking battle by making all three of his kicks against Carolina on Sunday, while Brown went 1 -2, missing from 45 yards out.
For the 3rd straight year, Nick Folk will be counted on to carry the offense when touchdowns are to tough to attain.
Folk’s numbers through 3 pre-season games: 4 -4. Brown: 3 – 4.
