According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Jets will not be keeping OT Jeff Otah.
Both the Jets and the Panthers have confirmed that Otah will be sent back to Carolina and the trade has been rescinded due to a failed physical.
While it’s no longer the Jets concern, you do have to wonder about the future of Jeff Otah’s career. He has only played 4 games in the past seasons, and at the moment he cannot even get on the field to prepare for the opportunity to play another one.
Could it be Vernon Carey time? Or are we back to pumping up Wayne Hunter? With Ducasse competing with Slauson, seems like a Ducasse/Hunter competition is unrealistic. Rex also made a point of complimenting young Austin Howard in his Sunday press conference; perhaps Howard could make a push to compete with Wayne?
Mike Tannenbaum will speak with the media to address the situation shortly.
