Jets Headlines : More Talk About Sanchez, Holmes and the Locker Room, Less About the Kardashians

Where in the world is Mark Sanchez?

Did you know the Super Bowl is on Sunday? Did you know the Jets are not playing in the Super Bowl? If, let’s say, you weren’t following what was going on (or you recently arrived on this planet from outer space) you might be inclined to believe that the Jets were actually the New York team playing in the big game simply based on the amount of conversation currently surrounding the team.

I’m slightly exaggerating. Slightly.

Jets Nation is Saved from Kim Kardashian

First things first, I have some good news on the whole Mark Sanchez-is-maybe-hooking-up-with-Kim-Kardashian front:

According to Dustin Keller, Mark Sanchez is not hooking up with Kimmy K. In fact, it turns out they have never. even. met.

“Last thing I heard was he was dating Kim Kardashian. I can go on record and say he’s never even met her before.

So, there you go.

I guess this is what we all get for believing something written on site called Strawberry Ice Cream.

My theory is that this tidbit was planted by someone from Kim’s camp – probably her mother Kris – because with that family, no press is bad press. If we are talking about them, they win. And we are talking about them right now. So we all suck.

Let’s not talk about her anymore. Starting..now.

Dustin Keller Comments on Sanchez, Holmes and Locker Room

Dustin Keller spoke with the media on Thursday regarding a number of issues, including QB Mark Sanchez.

Keller explained that he has spoken to Sanchez and told him “you’re my guy.” He also explained that Sanchez and Holmes have spoken to each other saying,”They’re going to work out their differences.”

Keller believes they can coexist on the team.

Keller also added that we will eventually be hearing from Mark on everything : “Eventually, he has to come out and talk about these things.”

Mike Smith to Return to the Jets

Mike Smith is back with Jets. Again.

According to Manish Mehta of the Daily News, the job at WVU “wasn’t what Smith initially believed it would be” and so he has decided he would like to stick with the team in 2012.

In the past few weeks he went from Jets intern coaching the OLB , to the coach at Washington State, to the Jets official OLB coach, to the West Virginia LB coach, and then back to the Jets.

Smith’s return could mean good things for Aaron Maybin, who he closely worked with last season.

Plaxico Buress Shares His Thoughts on Sanchez, Holmes and the Locker Room, Too

Rod Boone from Newsday spoke with Plaxico Burress Burress after a NFL military outreach event at Camp Atterbury  to talk Mark Sanchez, Santonio Holmes the situation in the locker room and whether or not he thinks he will return to the Jets next season.

It’s pretty interesting stuff, especially when you consider yesterday’s report from New York Post, in which Brian Costello writes, “Don’t count on seeing Burress back in a Jets uniform in 2012,” while also explaining Burress would not stand up for Mark Sanchez.

Woody Johnson to Meet with Sanchez

Woody Johnson will meet with Mark Sanchez for dinner next week to discuss…well, everything.
