Tonight the Marquette Golden Eagles will take on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at the Bradley Center.

Rutgers is coming off a tough loss to Syracuse. Sophomore Gilvydas Biruta had a career-high tying 21 point with seven assists and sophomore Mike Poole had 10 points. Rutgers kept a great pace with Syracuse. There were eight lead changes in the first half along with seven ties. Rutgers was within two point for most of the game until they fell apart in the last few minutes of the game, losing 74-64. This team should not be discounted. They played hard against Syracuse and definitely have the potential to beat a top ranked team.

The Marquette Golden Eagles are coming off a road win over UConn. Big East player of the Week, Jae Crowder scored a career high 29 points with 12 rebounds and three steals. Darius Johnson-Odom added 24 points in the victory. Marquette needs to start strong and stay that way throughout the game. Teams like Rutgers shouldn’t be discounted. They have the potential to upset ranked teams.

Tip-off is at 7:00 pm CST on the Big East Network.
