Marquette Basketball Scores Commitment from JaJuan Johnson

Marquette basketball adds another recruit to its 2013 class with JaJuan Johnson from Southwind High in Memphis, TN. The announcement of Johnson’s verbal commitment was made on Friday.

JaJuan Johnson is 6-foot-5 and is ranked 69 in the Top 100 recruits on CBSSports.com. He is very long and athletic and able to shoot 3-pointers consistently. Johnson broke out during Boo Williams EYBL summer camp by showing off his diverse set of skills.

So far the 2013 recruiting class consists of Johnson, Duane Wilson, and Deonte Burton along with junior college transfer Jameel McKay.


Marquette Gets Verbal Commit from Jameel McKay

Jameel McKay from Indian Hills Junior College has made a verbal commitment to join the Marquette Golden Eagles for the 2013-2014 season.

McKay is a Milwaukee native who attended Pulaski High School. As a high school senior, Jameel was named City Conference player of the year and a first-team Division 1 all-state selection by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. At Indian Hills, he averaged 14.6 points and 7.7 rebounds and shot 62% from the floor.

McKay joins Milwaukee natives Deonte Burton (Vincent High School) and Duane Wilson (Dominican High School) in Marquette’s 2013 class.
