The Toronto Maple Leafs have beaten the Montreal Canadiens – for the second time this season – at the Bell Centre.

The Leafs finished with an impressive 6-0 shutout victory and with convincing fashion. Fans can blame the refs or the Canadiens lack of well, everything, but the Leafs dominated in every aspect of the game. The Leafs generated scoring chances and their penalty kill was outstanding, killing all eight penalties against them. Goals were scored by Leo Komarov, Tyler Bozak, Phil Kessel, Dion Phaneuf Korbinian Holzer, all in order.

The Canadiens and suffered a third consecutive loss, which greatly reduces their advance with respect to teams that are in the bottom of the standings in the Eastern Conference. With a shortened schedule of 48 games, all points are crucial. Currently, they are in seventh place.

Additionally, quite a bit of controversy surrounded the period. The Leafs were up by a few goals and looked as if they were going to cakewalk towards a victory. Fights broke out and pretty much all hell broke loose. Cheap shots were thrown by Colton Orr with an attempted knee-on-knee on Tomas Plekanec and an attempted fight with the smallest player on the ice Brian Gionta, and an apparent bite delivered by Mikael Grabovski on Max Pacioretty during a scrum.

What do you think? Did Grabovski really bite Pacioretty or was the whole thing being blown out of proportion? It is important to state that Pacioretty himself claimed Grabovski, so he is either being an idiot or he’s telling the turth. I’ll go with the latter on this one.

The Habs will play their next game on Tuesday night against the Tampa Bay Lighting, in Tampa.
