Ten things for Gamecocks fans to do in the next ten days

58943_1456110719857_2925745_nWe’re here. We’re in the home stretch. We’ve made it. Get excited, because the 2013 college football season starts in a week and a half when South Carolina and North Carolina square off in Columbia. While you wait out these 10 last days without football, here are 10 things to do to prepare yourself for the season:

  1. Look at the schedule, your ticket, your invite to a watch party, whatever. Make sure you know that the game starts at 6 ET and it’s on ESPN.
  2. Be sure your gameday apparel, be it a jersey, a t-shirt, or a sundress, is clean and ready to go.
  3. Find a new recipe for tailgating this year. Test it out at least once to make sure that it’s good.
  4. Learn the names of all the new guys, especially those who are actually going to see playing time.
  5. If you’re a student (or an alum or general fan, really) and you don’t know the alma mater/fight song/cheers yet, get on that.
  6. Practice your Steve Spurrier impersonation. Why? Because it’s fun. And it gives you a reason to go around saying funny things.
  7. Check out highlights from last season on YouTube. Enjoy the subsequent chills.
  8. Listen to Brent Musberger saying, “Sit back and enjoy, everybody. Here come the Gamecocks.” on repeat.
  9. Justin King made a new video. Watch it. Watch it again. Watch it a third time just because.
  10. Follow Cocky Country on Twitter and “like” us on Facebook.
