Team USA Trims Roster, Names Captain

Team USA made two more cuts for their World Juniors roster today, cutting Brady Skjei and Stefan Matteau. They just need to cut a defenseman in order to have their roster finalized. Jake McCabe was named captain of the team (he’s a draft pick of the Buffalo Sabres). There will be four alternate captains, (two will wear the As in the white jerseys, 2 in the blue jerseys). Seth Jones, J.T. Miller, Cole Bardreau, and Jacob Trouba will share McCabe’s responsibilities as team leaders.

Hopefully the team’s second pre-tournament game (a 5-1 blow out loss against Finland) was just a blip in the system. If this team doesn’t make it to the medal rounds, it will be a disappointment, considering the talented group that has been put together.
