But good defense and bad pitching? Not a combination I’d want to see. It’s not an either or scenario, but match up any skill sets in baseball with bad pitching and you get nowhere.

Cedeno’s error made a big difference last night, but the bullpen’s inability to come into the game and finish things is going to be a serious problem if it continues. It will be interesting to see what happens when Blackley is well enough to join the club again.

A 7 run inning was the result of a misplayed double-play ball. And Norris gets out of the sixth if Ronny Cedeno makes the play on Reddick’s grounder last night. Ultimately, when you have the talent level of a team like the Astros, you need to be proficient in all facets of the game.

Hind sight is 20/20 though. I would have never seen that piece of emotion unless the perfect game I was cheering so hard against was broken up.

Whatever. I’ve seen enough history against the Astros in my time. Like in ’97 when the Pirates’ Francisco Cordova and Ricardo Rincon pitched a 10 inning no hitter. How about Kerry Woods 20k 1 hitter with the Cubs in ’98? One of my worst sports moments in history, the Cubs’ Carlos Zambrano throwing a no-hitter against the Astros in f#$%ing Milwaukee(Damn you, Hurricane Ike). Who could forget less than a year ago Matt Cain?

The point is…Yu Darvish can go throw a perfect game against someone else, damnit!
