We’re just a day away from the big game in New Jersey! The Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks are the best of the best remaining and will battle it out for the Lombardi Trophy. Denver’s number one offense is going against Seattle’s number one defense which should make for an epic battle.
The staff of Aerys NFL has given their predictions of how the game will finish.
Kristine – Seahawks
“I like Peyton Manning, and I understand that the Broncos have a record-breaking prolific offense and blah, blah, blah, but I am bored of hearing about it. I think Seahawks can match up with this squad and win, especially with Harvin back in the lineup.”
Final score: Seahawks 28, Denver 27
Kristin – Seahawks
“Because it would go against all my beliefs to root for Peyton Manning.”
Final score: Seahawks 28, Broncos 24
Jamie – Broncos
“This is a really difficult choice because it’s the #1 Offense vs the #1 Defense. That being said, both teams are solid on both sides of the ball, so I think it’s going to come down to who performs the best under pressure in combination with the most experienced team. That’s why I’m taking the Broncos.”
Final Score: Broncos 24, Seahawks 17
Miranda – Broncos
Peyton is an experienced leader in big game situations. It will make a huge difference against a team getting their first full season of success.
Final score: Broncos 33, Seahawks 24
Emily M. – Seahawks
“This was difficult, because this is the first time in years that I am not cheering for a wormhole to appear and suck out one or both teams. So I’m a little lost this year. I like a great defense, and I flipped a coin, so I’m going with Seattle.”
Final score: Seahawks 24, Broncos 20
Mary – Seahawks
“I’m rooting for the Seahawks but will cheer for Peyton Manning with my fiancé.”
Final score: Seahawks 32, Broncos 17
Kristin V. – Broncos
“My great grandmother would have wanted me to cheer for the Broncos.”
Final score: Broncos 30, Seahawks 21
Stephi – Seahawks
“Seahawks will have at least one defensive score and Mr. Skittles himself Marshawn Lynch will also score a touchdown, running for at least 120 yards. Super Bowl history says offensive-minded teams don’t win, and I think history will maintain its record.
(plus, I can’t NOT pick the team I’ve rooted for since I learned that the spiraling oval-shaped pigskin was a ball)”
Final score: Seahawks 24, Broncos 17
Emily R. – Broncos
“Will Peyton manning and the Broncos be distracted by the cold weather and bright neon green of the Seahawks uniforms? No.”
Final score: Broncos 34, Seahawks 31
Finally, here is my prediction.
I genuinely like both teams. If there were ever a set of two teams that deserve to be in Super Bowl XLVIII it’s Seattle and Denver. I’ve always been a defense person. My high school soccer coach always said to me, “Offense wins games. Defense wins championships.” I feel like I’m betraying that idea because I think Denver’s offense is just too good. Peyton Manning is too smart and too experienced. If anyone is going to beat Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas it’s Manning.
My final score: Broncos 24, Seahawks 21
Eli won a Super Bowl in Peyton’s house. Peyton will win in Eli’s house.
