The playoffs are here as the wild card games continue today with a pair of exciting games on CBS and FOX.
The first game will be at 1:05 p.m. ET on CBS as the Cincinnati Bengals host the San Diego Chargers. This is in fact the first time these two teams play each other in the playoffs since the 1981 AFC title game. It was a cold one that day and it will likely be a very “wintery” day when the two teams face off at Paul Brown Stadium.
The other game will be on FOX as the Green Bay Packers host the San Francisco 49ers. By the way, the weather will also be VERY weathery in Green Bay. My suggestion to you is to bundle up. It could get very cold in Lambeau, especially since it’s a late afternoon game.
Of course, there was a couple of wild card games Saturday. The Colts came from behind to defeat the Chiefs, while the Saints kicked a game-winning field goal as time expired to defeat the Eagles on the road.
The Saints are confirmed for playing in Seattle next week. This means the winner of the Packers-49ers will play Carolina in the divisional round. The AFC divisional round picture remains unclear.
Finally, here’s some video footage from the 1981 AFC Title game. Enjoy!
