Are you excited? You should be! We’re just a few days away from the start of the 2013 NFL season.

Teams have spent much of their weekend trimming their rosters down to 53 players. has a list of notable players who were cut. Among those who were cut includes a former top-tier college quarterback. I’m of course talking about Jimmy Clausen. (Troll Mode: Activate)

It seems only right that we honor Clausen, who was released by the team that drafted him, the Carolina Panthers. LEAVE THE MEMORIES ALONE!

I guess there was also this quarterback cut by the Patriots. He was a Heisman Trophy winner and won National Titles at Florida. And I know what you’re thinking, Ryan Mallett DIDN’T win the Heisman Trophy when he was in college. He also played at Arkansasichigan.

One quarterback who did make it on a team was former West Virginia star Pat White. White made it on the roster for Washington. He won’t be the only quarterback on the team, of course. There is also Robert Griffin III, Kirk Cousins and Mr. Sex Cannon himself, Rex Grossman. I’m sure Grossman and White can hang out together and be friends.

There were those who did make it into practice squad. SB Nation has all the rules and regulations for practice squad players, including how much they make.

While the concussion lawsuit might have ended, a new lawsuit has been filed against the NFL. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, a group of former players are suing the league over compensating the former players for rights to use their images in highlights, commercials and etc.

Even media can’t avoid concussions, or at least that was the case for one FOX Sports sideline reporter. The New York Daily News reported Saturday Pam Oliver suffered a concussion several weeks ago when she was hit by a pass during warm-ups. Oliver confirmed that to be the case with the Daily News.

Lots of people have taken part in the NOH8 campaign. NFL player Brendon Ayanbadejo did so recently. Well he did it again, only this time he posed nude, reports (NOTE: Picture is included in the article)

If you’re the type to gamble on football, well there is this article on tips of what to expect, if that is your sort of thing.

Finally, we head back to Washington, where a couple of players had a little fun and dressed up like the Jamaican Bobsled team.

In conclusion…well Wonka video. Enjoy the rest of your Labor Day weekend and enjoy the final Sunday without pro football for the next few months.
