It’s Sunday and we wrap up the Divisional rounds for today. There are two games scheduled for this Sunday.
The first game is scheduled for a 1:05 p.m. ET start time on FOX as the San Francisco 49ers go to Charlotte to play the Carolina Panthers.
It looks like Trent Dilfer had some second thoughts on what he said about 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Separately, it looks like some 49ers coordinators are getting some interviews for head coaching positions, also according to the Chronicle.
On the other side, the Charlotte Observer has a nice article on “Riverboat Ron,” a.k.a Panthers Head Coach Ron Rivera.
Additionally, the Observer has a great feature on Panthers defensive player Greg Hardy.
The second game of the NFL Divisional Doubleheader will take place in the AFC when the Denver Broncos host the San Diego Chargers. The game is scheduled for a 4:40 p.m. ET start on CBS.
Irv Moss of the Denver Post has a story out about Malik Jackson and the role he plays on the Broncos defensive line.
The San Diego Union Tribune meanwhile has a story on Dwight Freeney and the role he hopes to play during the game in Denver.
Additionally, the UT also has a Broncos/Chargers playoff quiz. I ended up with 6 out of 10.
Meanwhile, we do have two teams already in their respective conference championship games.
In New England, the Patriots defeated the Indianapolis Colts 43-22. Before the game, New England honored 17-year-old Sam Berns with a moment of silence. Berns, who had a rare genetic disease and was scheduled to be an honorary captain for the game, passed away Friday night.
In Seattle, the Seahawks were able to hold off the Saints and get the 23-15 win.
Finally, we close out this edition with another commercial. This one features FOX NFL analyst John Lynch and some avocados.
Enjoy the games today!
