We are still in the midst of Wallace Watch 2012.
Mike Wallace has yet to sign, and talks with the Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly in a standstill. The young receiver is looking for figures in the Larry Fitzgerald territory, while the Steelers aren’t looking to go that high.
It’s no surprise that the two sides haven’t made much headway. All reports indicate Wallace and Steelers are far apart on how much he is worth. More importantly, it’s the dead time of the NFL offseason.
Since we’re a few weeks away from training camp, it appears that no news is actually news. I imagine talks will start heating up once we get closer to the start of camp.

Wallace needs to read the history books. The Steelers don’t negotiate with players that hold out, no matter how much they like that player. He would do himself a big favor if he stops listening to his agent and signs his tender. He’s got a new playbook to learn with a new OC. And if he doesn’t get his extension, he needs a great season before he hits free agency.
