  With Father’s Day just around the corner, I suppose it’s fitting that Ben Roethlisberger and his wife Ashley are expecting their first child. The little bundle of joy, a boy, is due sometime later this year. Congrats to Ben and Ashley!

• In non-Roethlisberger news, first and second round picks David DeCastro and Mike Adams will participate in a three day mini-camp which begins today. DeCastro and Adams missed all OTA sessions due to school. However, they are certainly ready to go.

“I am very excited just to get out there and work with the guys,” said Adams. “I haven’t gotten to work with any of the older guys yet. To get out there and work with the guys, I can’t even tell you.”

With his off-field drama behind him, Adams has quite a bit to prove, and I’m glad he’s excited.

And boys? Ben has a kid on the way. You can’t let Roethlisberger die now. So, no pressure on learning the system or anything.

Ah, St. Patrick’s Day. Everyone may be a little Irish today, so just remember that the Ambassador to Ireland is a Steeler. And yes, I do love bragging about that. How many other NFL owners are also Ambassadors?

Anyway, it’s been a bit of a slow news week, so we’re just doing a quick blitz of Steelers “news”.

• If you follow James Harrison on Twitter or have liked his Official Facebook Fan Page, then you’ll know of all the tomfoolery of his Hummer getting stuck in the mud. I love that he felt the need to post seven videos. No word yet on how much he will fined by the NFL.
• Continuing with the social media theme, Troy Polamalu announced his March Madness contest on his Twitter account. Enter your March Madness bracket for a chance to win cool swag and beat a few other Steelers. And while you’re at it, be sure to enter your bracket in the Aerys Sports contest for a chance to win Aerys Sports swag. Seriously, think of all the swag and bragging rights you can win!
• Dick LeBeau is being inducted into yet another Hall of Fame. This time it’s the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. Congrats, Coach Dad!
