Cleveland Browns on Aerys: Dawg Treats
The Pittsburgh Steelers wrap up a disappointing 2012 season by taking on the Cleveland Browns at Heinz Field. The Steelers will hope to end the season on a high note despite the absence of Ike Taylor, Mike Wallace, and team MVP Heath Miller. All three are injured and will finish the season on Injured Reserve.
The Black and Gold will take on a Browns team that in all likelihood will be playing to keep their jobs. With an offseason to mull things over, the new owner of the Cleveland Browns may look to make some personnel changes.
No job is safe on the Steelers side of the ball either. The Steelers made waves this past offseason by cutting veterans such as James Farrior and Hines Ward to make room under the salary cap. Between the salary cap and the lackluster season, the Rooneys may be looking to make changes of their own.

HEEEEEEEEAAAAAAATH
Heath Miller’s season is over.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have one game left to play this season, and they will be doing so without Heath, who will undergo surgery to repair his ACL. Miller left Sunday’s game against the Bengals after suffering a knee injury.
“Unfortunately, his season comes to an end,” Tomlin said. “He has been rock solid for us, and we really appreciate his efforts.”
Coming into this season, new offensive coordinator Todd Haley promised to utilize Miller more. As a result, Heath has had a career year with 71 catches, 816 yards, and 8 touchdowns. Miller was the lone bright spot in an offense that failed to take advantage of opportunities.
Here’s hoping Heath has a speedy recovery!

Week 16

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Time: 1:00 PM
TV: CBS
Site: Heinz Field
Last Meeting: 10/21/12, W 24 – 17
The Pittsburgh Steelers find themselves in a must-win game. In a season filled with many must-win games, the Steelers have come up short more than once.
Which is why they are fighting for a sixth seed spot instead of the AFC North.
This game won’t be easy for the Steelers. The Cincinnati Bengals are the current sixth seed and are looking to make a return trip to the playoffs. Andy Dalton and A.J. Green will most certainly attempt to pick on a young secondary and a defense that is unable to get off the field on third down.

San Diego Chargers on Aeyrs: Nuts & Bolts
Ben Roethlisberger makes his return for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Huzzah! He’s back just in time to take on Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers are in the middle of a four game losing streak, two of which to AFC North opponents. Before Steeler Nation gets overly confident with the return of Big Ben, it’s good to remember that this is a Steelers team that lost to the Oakland Raiders and Tennessee Titans while Big Ben was under center.

Ben Roethlisberger made “all the necessary throws” according to HC Mike Tomlin (Lake Fong/Post-Gazette)
Steeler Nation breathed a collective sigh today, as the news they hoped for became a reality:
Ben Roethlisberger will start vs. Chargers

No, I’m not gullible enough to believe everything I read on the internet, but this came from the team’s official twitter account. OLB LaMarr Woodley summed up our feelings very economically:
Welcome back ben

Step back from that ledge, Steeler Nation. After last week’s embarrassing performance in Cleveland and Charlie Batch starting against the Ravens, things weren’t looking to great for the Steelers.
Chill out, y’all. Charlie Batch has got this.

Week 12

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cleveland Browns
Time: 1:00 PM
TV: CBS
Site: Cleveland Browns Stadium
Last Meeting: 01/01/12, W 13-9
Charlie Batch and the Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns in yet another AFC North mach-up. The Browns may be a 2-8 team, but they are not to be taken lightly. The Steelers have had more than their fair share of issues with teams with losing records this season. Two of their loses came to the Oakland Raiders and Tennesee Titans, and the Steelers have looked less than impressive against the likes of the Kansas City Chiefs. With this being a divisional match-up, it could be another one of those ugly close games that the Steelers are all too familiar with this season.

Week 9

Pittsburgh Steelers @ New York Giants
Time: 4:25 PM
TV: CBS
Site: MetLife Stadium
Last Meeting: 10/26/08, L 14-21
Forget Manning/Brady. One of the best quarterback “rivalries” in the NFL is one of the rarest: Manning/Roethlisberger. Both quarterbacks were selected in the first round of the 2004 draft. Both quarterbacks have two Super Bowl rings. However, thanks to the NFL’s scheduling methods, they only manage to face each other once every presidential election cycle.
Coming into the game, Ben Roethlisberger may have more to prove. While Roethlisberger seems to thrive under new O.C. Todd Haley’s offense, that hasn’t necessarily translated into wins. The Steelers lost late leads to the Denver and Oakland, and their only road win has come in Cincinnati.
To say that they will be tested by the defending Super Bowl champs is a bit of an understatement.

Pittsburgh Steelers 27 Washington 12

Despite looking like a hoard of tracker jackers and being the laughing stock of the Twitterverse in their new throwbacks, the Pittsburgh Steelers shut down RG III and company on Sunday.
Ben Roethlisberger had another stellar game, throwing for 222 yards and three touchdowns. Heath Miller continues to thrive under the new Todd Haley offense with four receptions for 46 yards and a touchdown. Jonathan Dwyer had another 100-yard running game with 107 yards on the day. After an embarrassing performance on Sunday Night Football last week, Mike Wallace actually caught the ball to be the Steelers’ leading receiver in the game with 62 yards.

Week 8

Washington vs Pittsburgh Steelers
Time: 1:00 PM
TV: FOX
Site: Heinz Field
Last Meeting: 11/03/08, W 23-06

Just a reminder that these are real and actually happening.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will be rolling out their brand new throwbacks in today’s game against Washington. There has been much ado about these uniforms, but I have to say, it’s kind of genius. Since Halloween is just around the corner, today’s uniforms can function as Halloween costumes. Are the Steelers bees? Are they Hamburlars? Nobody knows.
Perhaps the throwbacks are all part of a cunning plan to confuse Washington and RGIII.
Either way, the Steelers look to win their second consecutive game and thereby going on their longest winning streak this season. A win would also help the Steelers gain the ground on the Baltimore Ravens, who are off this week.
So no pressure or anything, but a win would be awesome.
