Thank You, White Sox Bullpen

A win! Back to a 1.5 game lead in the AL Central. By a final of 5-4, the Sox won against the Dodgers last night.

And the bullpen needs to be thanked. Once again, Philip weaved in and out of trouble. Once again it finally bit him in the butt when the Dodgers tied the game up in the third inning.

Philip managed to pick up his first major league hit and RBI in the cause last night. This all before letting the Dodgers tie the game up. It was the kind of start hat makes you think, ok, the Sox may have this in hand. But by now, we should know better.

Philip did pitch two more scoreless innings before handing things over to the bullpen. And then the Dodgers couldn’t get another hit to save themselves.

Now back to the bullpen. Those guys have at times been so amazing this season. Last night was another one of those amazing nights. Nate Jones, Hector Santiago, Jesse Crain and Addison Reed were so good.

Santiago and Jones both issued walks, but they didn’t come around to score. Jesse was good again. And Addison picked up his eighth save in eight chances.

Today, things will conclude in LA with Jose Quintana facing off against Chris Capuano. Hopefully Jose takes care of things so the bullpen, who at times has been beyond great, a night off.
