Danks Doesn’t Dazzle

John Danks is still winless.

The White Sox sent the lefty up to face the Blue Jays Ricky Romero, but Danks barely lasted four innings and now has an 0-8 record. Danks gave up nine runs in those four innings, as the Sox lost 13-4.

Danks looked terrible in those four innings. He gave up back-to-back-to-back singles, which scored a run. With one out, Danks walked the bases loaded, and the next batter, Aaron Hill, hit a grand slam to put the Blue Jays up 5-1. Immediately following, Danks gave up a homer to Edwin Encarnacion, his first home run of the season. In the fourth, Danks gave up a single to Yunel Escobar which scored Rajai Davis. The next batter, Corey Patterson, hit a two-run homer to right.

Bats Bail on Buehrle

Mark Buehrle pitched well through seven innings, but the White Sox failed to give him enough run support for a win. The Blue Jays beat the Sox 4-2.

Buehrle lasted seven innings, giving up three runs on nine hits and two walks. The Blue Jays scored in the first inning. Buehrle gave up a lead off single to Yunel Escobar who eventually scored on a Juan Rivera double. Aaron Hill led off the fourth with a single to left and scored when Rajai Davis tripled to center.

Not Much Lumber to Back Humber But Sox Increase Win Number

Hey, look. I can rhyme!

After losing their first series since May 3, the White Sox traveled north of the border to visit Toronto. The Sox sent out Phil Humber to face the Blue Jays’ Brandon Morrow. Behind a solid 7.2 innings pitched, the Sox beat the Blue Jays 3-1.

The Sox started out having a little trouble hitting. It took an AJ Pierzynski single in the fifth inning to break up Morrow’s no-hitter. He later scored on a Juan Pierre single, putting the Sox ahead 1-0.

The Blue Jays came back with a run of their own in the sixth on a solo home run from Yunel Escobar.

Humber left the game in the eighth, pitching 7.2 innings. He gave up one run, Escobar’s homer, on six hits and a walk. He threw three strikeouts and now has an ERA of 2.85. Very impressive, Phil. Very impressive.
