EPIC Showdown! White Sox V Tigers September 13, 2012

76-66 this season

It is a rematch of a game that happened a couple of Sunday nights ago. Mr. Kate Upton -is he still dating her? – against young Chris Sale. At stake, a share of first place or getting things back to the way they were before this series started. There were opportunities for the Sox to make it better for themselves, but they failed.

Tonight, Robin is sending out the following guys to prevent sharing their favorite toy:

Alejandro De Aza LF, Youk 3B, Dewayne Wise CF, The King 1B, Alex Rios RF, AJ Pierzynski C, The Cuban Tank DH, The Cuban Missile SS, Bacon 2B. » Continue reading “EPIC Showdown! White Sox V Tigers September 13, 2012″

Oh Look, It’s Mr. Consistently Inconsistent: White Sox V Tigers September 12, 2012

76-65 this season

Yep, he’s back. And in the middle of a pennant race. And it is true, most fans just do not trust the man. After all,  he is terrible from the start and then manages to settle down and stick around the game for a bit. But he will be facing a team he does very well against, so odds should be in favor of good things to come.

Tonight, Robin will send the following guys out to hopefully play WAY BETTER than last night’s performance was:

Alejandro De Aza LF, Youk 3B, Dewayne Wise CF, The King 1B, Alex Rios RF, AJ Pierzynski C, The Cuban Missile SS, Dan Johnson DH, O-Dog 2B.

Gavin Floyd makes his return back to the rotation after being on the shelf lately. While he only threw less than five innings total in his previous couple of starts, his history against the Tigers should not have fans worried tonight. » Continue reading “Oh Look, It’s Mr. Consistently Inconsistent: White Sox V Tigers September 12, 2012″

Dealing With Fear And Dread: White Sox V Tigers September 10, 2012

75-64 this season

Try as fans might, there is much to fear tonight and the next few nights. The Sox will take on the Tigers. The Sox haven’t played the Tigers well this season. The Sox have only won four games so far against them this season. The good news maybe is that the Tigers are not playing the best road baseball.

Tonight, Robin will send out the following guys to hopefully get on a roll against the Dirty Beast:

Alejandro De Aza CF, Youk 3B,Dewayne Wise LF, The King 1B, Alex Rios RF, AJ Pierzynski C, The Cuban Tank DH, The Cuban Missile SS, Bacon 2B.

Jose Quintana will start tonight for the Sox. Jose is making his 21st start of the season and 19th start. Lately, he has just not been very good. You could say it was due to him venturing into unchartered territory (more innings every pitched this season than previously) however, Robin has said that is not Jose’s problem. Perhaps it is the fact that teams are getting second and third looks at him that is making the difference. » Continue reading “Dealing With Fear And Dread: White Sox V Tigers September 10, 2012″

Exercising Of Demons: White Sox V Royals September 7, 2012

74-62 this season

Why, WHY do the Royals have to be tough? Why can’t that team just roll over and go away? Why do they have to stand in the way of the first prize, the AL Central Crown? It’s no secret that the White Sox have not played them well this season. So far, they have only won four the the 12 matches this season. Any more losses and the Sox risk two straight seasons in a row that the Sox lose the season series. Tonight, Robin is sending out the following guys to prevent this from happening:

Alejandro De Aza CF, Jose Lopez 3B, Dewayne Wise LF, The King 1B, Alex Rios RF, AJ Pierzynski C, The Cuban Tank DH, The Cuban Missile SS, Bacon 2B.

Francisco Liriano will start for the Sox tonight. Liriano is looking to bounce back from a miserable start last weekend where he gave up six unintentional walks and threw 100 pitches in four-plus innings against the Tigers. In all Liriano allowed three runs while striking out five. » Continue reading “Exercising Of Demons: White Sox V Royals September 7, 2012″

Please Don’t Suck! White Sox V Twins September 5, 2012

73-62 this season

It’s really all that fans ask. After last night’s phoning it it session, it’d be nice for fans to see a team that is supposed to be good actually play that way AND take care of a bad team. This afternoon, Robin is sending out the following guys in hopes of that happening:

Dewayne Wise CF, Youk, 3B, Big Donkey 1B, The King DH, Alex Rios RF, AJ Pierzynski C, The Cuban Tank LF, The Cuban Missile SS, Bacon 2B.

Jake “Dirt Bag” Peavy will start this afternoon. I have a feeling after last night’s travesty of baseball that Dirt Bag is feeling especially pumped and rearing to get his team riled up to in this series.

Jake is looking to pick up his 10th win of the season. It has been elusive for him in his last few starts. In his last five starts, Jake is 0-3 with a 4.36 ERA. He has however put in quality starts in three of those games. » Continue reading “Please Don’t Suck! White Sox V Twins September 5, 2012″

Taking Care Of Business: White Sox V Twins September 4, 2012

73-61 this season

Sometimes, it is nice to play a bad team. Especially when you play that bad team like they are a bad team. You know the team is bad so you don’t mess around and you feel confident in stepping on their throats when playing them to pick up easy wins. So far, the Sox have done just that. Tonight, Robin will make sure they keep doing that by sending out the following guys:

Alejandro De Aza CF, Youk 3B, Big Donkey DH, The King 1B, Alex Rios RF, The Cuban Tank LF, The Cuban Missile SS, Tyler Flowers C, Bacon 2B.

Jose Quintana will start for the Sox tonight. It will be his third career appearance and start against the Twins for Jose. While he has no record against the Twins, he has given up the runs, resulting in a 5.40 ERA. » Continue reading “Taking Care Of Business: White Sox V Twins September 4, 2012″

Back On Track: White Sox V Twins September 3, 2012

72-61 this season

Given how recent homestands have been after a string of terrible losses, the Sox should get back on track tonight and start making some headway in the AL Central. Tonight, Robin is sending out the following guys for that purpose:

Alejandro De Aza CF, Youk 3B, Big Donkey DH, The King 1B, Alex Rios RF, AJ Pierzynski C, The Cuban Tank LF, The Cuban Missile SS, Bacon 2B.

Hector Santiago will make his first MLB start tonight for the Sox. At the beginning of the season, Santiago was the closer for the team. Now he is still in the bullpen but given the recent injury to Mr. Consistently Inconsistent as well as Dylan Axelrod not being eligible to return to the club until tomorrow, Hector gets the nod tonight.

„On the season, Hector is 2-1 with a 3.52 ERA with four saves. He has thrown a career high 4.1 innings of relief last year. At Charlotte this year, he went 1-0 with a 000 ERA in three starts. In three games against the Twins, Hector has a 1.80 ERA » Continue reading “Back On Track: White Sox V Twins September 3, 2012″

Must See TV! White Sox @ Tigers September 2, 2012

72-60 this season

Forget Thursday nights on NBC.  Tonight is for real must see television. Two teams battling for top spot in their division. Staff aces dueling against each other. It could be a spectacular pitching match up. Or, it could turn out to be quite the slug fest at the plate. In any event, this game is a must win for the Sox. If they lose, there will be a tie for first place in the AL Central. Win and there is still a tiny bit of breathing room.

Tonight, Robin is sending out the following guys to make sure the proper outcome occurs:

Alejandro De Aza CF, Youk 3B, Dewayne Wise LF, The King 1B, Alex Rios RF, AJ Pierzynski C, The Cuban Missile SS, Tyler Flowers C, O-Dog 2B.

Chris Sale will start for the Sox. He is hoping to rebound from his shortest outing of the season when he last pitched. In that game, Chris just didn’t have it and lasted only four innings. Given how he didn’t have it that night, it was a wise move by RV to take Chris out of the game to preserve innings he will need later in the season. In that game, Chris did give up four runs on six hits. The Sox would go on to lose that game as Chris Tillman was just the better man that night. » Continue reading “Must See TV! White Sox @ Tigers September 2, 2012″

Don’t Be Wasteful: White Sox @ Tigers September 1, 2012

72-59 this season

Where did the season go? It is now September and that means the summer is just about over. Officially it will be after Labor Day, but for now we just have to enjoy the last precious days of summer. At least there is still baseball for the month.

Speaking of baseball, it’d be really nice if the Sox got their ish together. After last night’s game, they need it. They had runners in scoring position THIRTEEN TIMES! THIRTEEN.  You know how many of them scored? None. ZERO! Now, many fans want to put last night’s loss squarely on Matt Thornton’s shoulders, but if you do that, then I am going to say you are not a very good or bright fan at the moment. Yes, Matt has been bad lately. Yes, Matt makes you nervous. However, when you fail to capitalize on THIRTEEN opportunities to add more runs to your score sheet, you deserve to lose the game, no matter what the guys in your bullpen do. » Continue reading “Don’t Be Wasteful: White Sox @ Tigers September 1, 2012″

He’s Back! White Sox @ Tigers August 31, 2012

72-58 this season

The roadtrip continues. Now the Sox will stop in extreme enemy territory where they will begin a three-game series against the Dirty Beast. Robin is hoping his team gets its ish together and plays some good ball and puts the Dirty Beast in further misery and farther behind in the standings. To do that, he is sending out the following guys:

Dewayne Wise CF, Youk 3B, Big Donkey 1B, The King DH, Alex Rios RF, AJ Pierzynski C, The Cuban Tank LF, The Cuban Missile SS, Bacon 2B.

Jake “Dirt Bag” Peavy  will start for the Sox tonight. Jake has been out with an eye infection so he was pushed back. That is probably a good thing considering he may need some additional rest to keep him fresh for the stretch run coming up.   » Continue reading “He’s Back! White Sox @ Tigers August 31, 2012″
