Guthrie’d: White Sox Blanked By Royals

Paul Konerko v Red Sox

His two hits were the biggest offensive output of the day.

The Sox had their first game against the Royals postponed on Friday, so they opened the series Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, the Royals have been relatively good while the Sox have been relatively bad. This was the case today, as they lost 2-0. » Continue reading “Guthrie’d: White Sox Blanked By Royals”

White Sox Get Stung, Lose to Rays

Gavin FloydThe White Sox did not have their good stuff tonight. In the third game of the series against the Rays, the Sox couldn’t do much, as they fell 10-4.

Pitching was all sorts of bad tonight. Gavin Floyd started the game, and he didn’t last very long. In 2.2 innings pitched, he gave up two runs on two hits and two walks. He left in the third inning with a flexor muscle strain in his right elbow. Hector Santiago came on in relief, and he didn’t have a much better night. He pitched 3.2 innings, giving up four runs on ten hits. » Continue reading “White Sox Get Stung, Lose to Rays”

Alex Rios Powers White Sox to Win

Rios hitting the ballThe Sox were rained out again Tuesday night, so they finished a shortened series this afternoon. Jose Quintana took to the mound and had a good start, picking up the win as the Sox beat the Indians 3-2. » Continue reading “Alex Rios Powers White Sox to Win”

White Sox Win Despite Limited Offense

Paul Konerko v Red SoxAfter losing a close game last night, the White Sox looked to turn things around. Cheryl mentioned briefly yesterday that the Sox will finish this 10-game road trip with a losing record. Despite that, there are still many games to be played, and the Sox needed to get back on the winning track. Facing off against the Blue Jays and pitcher Josh Johnson, the Sox sent Dylan Axelrod to the bump, and the Sox pulled out a 4-3 win.

Axelrod pitched poorly his last time out, lasting just 3.2 innings against the Nationals. This time out, he had a much better performance. He lasted six innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and a walk. The two runs were both solo home runs, one from Colby Rasmus and one from JP Arencibia. » Continue reading “White Sox Win Despite Limited Offense”

Sale’s Rough Outing Dooms White Sox

chris saleTry as they might, the White Sox are just not playing very well right now. Another loss today means they have lost five in a row, and they are not having a very good road trip. Today they lost 9-4 to the Cleveland Indians, and it wasn’t pretty.

Chris Sale started today, so I thought it was gonna be a relatively easy win for Mr. Sale. However, that was not the case. Sale lasted just 4.2 innings, giving up eight runs on eight hits and two walks. He allowed two home runs, a two-run shot to Nick Swisher and a grand slam to Mark Reynolds. It was an ugly, ugly day for Sale. » Continue reading “Sale’s Rough Outing Dooms White Sox”

Curtain Call

Tonight was it. The end. The finale. Fin.

We have to wait 179 days to watch another game that means something. But at least the Sox went out on a high note, beating the Indians 9-0.

Too Little, Too Late

There were runs. There were lots and lots of runs. And the White Sox scored them all, beating the Indians 11-0. » Continue reading “Too Little, Too Late”

And Then There Was One

yeah, he was bad today!

The Sox lost today. But you probably already knew that. The Tigers won. Again, you probably already knew that. The Tragic number at the start of the day was at three. Now it is at one. It wasn’t a pretty start for Jose Quintana who was throwing a bajillion pitches in just the first inning. So many in fact, that Philip Humber was up and warming in the bullpen.

Sure, he settled down but as usual, the offense was just not around today. Yeah, they put up a couple of runs. And yeah, they managed to string together some hits ( a whopping FIVE in total) but it was just too little too late. David Price is a 20-game winner  now. There was a brief moment when the Sox looked like they would get to him, but alas, it didn’t happen. Remember when this team was AMAZABALLS with RISP? If you don’t, it’s ok as it was such a long time ago. Now, this team is just looking lifeless. » Continue reading “And Then There Was One”
