Road Win For White Sox? Road Win For White Sox!

Today’s game just didn’t get off to a great start. One pitch and a run on the board for the Cleveland Indians. If you’ve been watching the Sox the last few games, you probably got a pit in your stomach thinking, “here we go again” and that the game was lost already. The offense has been putrid. The starting pitching has been abysmal and Jake “Dirt Bag” Peavy had to go and serve up a nice juicy pitch for Michael Bourn to hit out of the park right away.

Paul Konerko v Red SoxFortunately, after getting off to the worst road start in over 35 years, Jake and the team settled down and managed to stop the road bleeding with a 3-1 win over the Indians. Offense came in the form of Paul Konerko hitting a two-run home run in the sixth inning to put the Sox ahead in the game 2-1. Alejandro De Aza added his own solo shot in the eighth inning as insurance for the Sox.  » Continue reading “Road Win For White Sox? Road Win For White Sox!”

Sale’s Rough Outing Dooms White Sox

chris saleTry as they might, the White Sox are just not playing very well right now. Another loss today means they have lost five in a row, and they are not having a very good road trip. Today they lost 9-4 to the Cleveland Indians, and it wasn’t pretty.

Chris Sale started today, so I thought it was gonna be a relatively easy win for Mr. Sale. However, that was not the case. Sale lasted just 4.2 innings, giving up eight runs on eight hits and two walks. He allowed two home runs, a two-run shot to Nick Swisher and a grand slam to Mark Reynolds. It was an ugly, ugly day for Sale. » Continue reading “Sale’s Rough Outing Dooms White Sox”

Dirt Bag Will Stick Around

Breaking news. The Chicago White Sox have extended Jake Peavy for two years. The team has also exercised the option on Gavin Floyd for the upcoming season.

In other transactions, the options for Brett Myers and Kevin Youkilis have been declined. The team is still lacking a third baseman, but the starting staff is looking a letter bit better.

This is surely just the beginning of what could potentially be a frenzied off season for the Sox. More details to come.

Falling Further Out

Yes, White Sox, let’s keep playing horribly. That’s just what you need to get into the postseason. Especially since the Tigers won this afternoon. Unfortunately, the Sox continued to play like crap and lost to the Rays, 3-2. » Continue reading “Falling Further Out”

Adios First Place

After playing the way they did tonight, the Sox don’t deserve a shot at the postseason. They lost to the Cleveland Indians, 6-4. Not only did they lose the game, they lost first place in the Central, as the Tigers beat the Royals 5-4. » Continue reading “Adios First Place”

Streak Snapped! A Win!

Much of my evening consisted of yelling at my TV, telling the Sox to score runs since the Tigers were either winning or had won, depending on the time of yelling. More often than not, the Sox didn’t listen. Thankfully they did at some point, beating the Indians 5-4. This also snapped their ugly losing streak. » Continue reading “Streak Snapped! A Win!”

Taming the Tigers

The White Sox had their makeup game with the Detroit Tigers. And it was a good one. The Sox pulled out a 5-4 win, giving them a three-game lead in the division and a magic number of 14. » Continue reading “Taming the Tigers”

Well Then…That Sucked

But it could have been worse.

The White Sox looked to keep their distance from the Tigers, but it was not meant to be. The Sox lost 8-6 and now have only a one-game lead on Detroit.

Gavin Floyd returned from the disabled list tonight and started off well. He ran into some trouble in the fifth inning. He gave up a hit and a walk to lead off the inning. He was responsible for all three runs scored in the inning, and that put the Tigers up 3-1. » Continue reading “Well Then…That Sucked”

Alex Rios is the Offense

The White Sox finished their set against the Twins this afternoon. I was lucky enough to be in attendance for my last Sox game of the season. I always hope the Sox will pick up a win, but I was a little worried about them after last night’s debacle which I don’t want to talk about anymore. Luckily for me and the people I was with, they pulled out a 6-2 win! » Continue reading “Alex Rios is the Offense”
