Admit it White Sox fans. These next three days make you a *little* bit nervous. Sure, the Twins are in the rearview mirror looking to get back in this race and resemble the walking wounded, but you still don’t trust that what should happen will in this series. The White Sox are making their first visit to Target Field this season. Here is what you can expect.

Gavin Floyd: 6-5, 3.89 ERA, 60K v. Carl Pavano: 3-5, 4.54 ERA, 33K

Mark Buehrle: 6-4, 3.95 ERA, 43 K v. Nick Blackburn: 5-4, 3.47 ERA, 46K

Edwin Jackson: 4-5, 4.39 ERA, 65K v. Brian Duensing: 3-6, 4.98 ERA, 48K

Tuesday and Wednesday’s games begin at 7:10 pm and Thursday’s game is at 1:10 pm. All times CDT

Yep, the Twins scare you. Seeing how they have owned the White Sox the past few years and seeing the all-time record leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. The season has been one of up and down for the Sox. Not to mention, the team would really like to forget that game against Francisco Liriano last month. The offense has started to come around and the pitching has continued to keep the team in the game. Lately, Alex Rios and Adam Dunn have both shown signs of life and perhaps the might be letting go of their respective power outages. As long as the other guys who have been producing and the pitching continues, I like the Sox chances against their most hated rival. This visit should be interesting no only since the Twins have been so bad this season, but also because Jesse Crain will be making his first visit to the team he formerly pitched for.

The Twins on the other hand are probably the most surprising team in the AL, let alone the AL Central. Early prognosticators thought the Twins would be fighting for AL Central dominance along with the White Sox and Tigers. Unfortunately, the Twins appear as the walking wounded and sitting in the AL Central basement at the moment.

They have been on a bit of a roll lately, having won eight of their last ten including taking three of four against the potent Texas Rangers. As for the injuries, the Twins may be getting Dandruff Boy, eh, I mean Joe Mauer back this week. It is still possible he will miss the series against the arch-rival White Sox. Other walking wounded on the team include Justin Morneau who is day to day with a wrist injury, Jason Kubel who is out with a left foot sprain and Denard Span who is on the new seve-day DL with a concussion. Jim Thome, Tsuyoshi Nishioka, Glen Perkins, Joe Nathan, and Kevin Slowey are also out on the DL right now.

Who’s Hot: Michael Cuddyer has had good success against White Sox pitching. He would definitely qualify as one of those piranhas that Ozzie has talked about in the past. Carlos Quentin has also had some very good success against Twins pitching, aside from Carl Pavano. Who’s Not: No one really. While both teams are below .500 and have had troubles in various areas recently (Twins keeping players on the field; White Sox offense and potential closer issues), they are both making a strong push right now to get back into the race. It should be a fun three games, as is always expected.
