Jose Quintana will start for the Sox. While Quintana has been successful so far, he will have to improve upon his last start to make sure it keeps going.

Right now, Jose has a 16 inning scoreless streak. Over his last four starts, he is 1-1 with a 0.99 ERA and he has had just three runs of support. The Sox had better change that for a pitcher who is more than giving the team a chance to win the game.

Adam Warren will start for the Yankees. He is making his major league debut and wasn’t actually supposed to be starting just yet. Adam was going to be eased into things, however, that has been fast-tracked thanks to CC Sabathia going on the disabled list this past Wednesday.

Adam is the first Yankees pitcher to make his debut as a starter since Ian Kennedy did it in September 2007. This season he has spent at Triple-A Scranton / Wilkes-Barre where he went 5-5 with a 3.86 ERA in 15 game starts.

*Notes: Brian Bruney was placed on the 15-day disabled list with left hip inflammation. Brian Omogrosso was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte to take his place. Aaron Rowand will be on the radio this weekend filling in for Darrin Jackson who is away on a personal matter.

The Yankees claimed Chris Schwinden from the Cleveland Indians. he will report to Triple-A Scranton. Danny Farquhar, who was recently claimed from the Athletics was designated for assignment.
