I
f you are a fan of baseball and have interest in the bats used by players, try to get to the Cell this weekend. Louisville Slugger is here again and they have bats on display. You can see the bat that Shoeless Joe Jackson and Hank Aaron used. There are also game used bats by The King and AJ Pierzynski. Finally, you can see exactly how bats were made by hand way back in the day. I’ll have a post up about the Louisville Slugger exhibits later this weekend. For now, if you do go, the displays are in section 163 and around / nearby section 113.
Ah, pitcher’s duels. That is what those who are afficianados of pitching live to see. Tonight, the White Sox gave fans just about everything we wanted. For Brewers fans, the Brew Crew gave their fans everything.
Final score of 1-0 in 10 innings goes to the Brewers. Chris Sale was magnificent in the game. Only giving up four hits, one walk and no runs. Equally as good was Zack Greinke. He gave up three hits, one walk and no runs. Chris went eight innings and Zack went nine. There seemed to be chances for each team, but alas, the pitching was just too good.
Until the 10th inning that is. Jesse Crain gave up a double to Aramis Ramirez and Nyjer Morgan then came in to run for him. A ball bounced in the dirt and got away just far enough for Morgan to advance to third base. Rickie Weeks then drove in Morgan to make it 1-0. John Axford came in and shut the door on the Sox. There was a brief bit of maybe, just maybe the Brewers might blow it, but they didn’t.
Alas, tomorrow is another day and Randy Wolf will be going for the Brewers. He hasn’t been all that good, which hopefully works in the Sox’s favor. Of course, we have Dylan Axelrod going and who knows what will happen there.
