That is the mantra in the next five games. If the Sox can take care of business at home, then perhaps there is a chance at the division with Detroit faltering of late. Not to mention, who REALLY thinks the Indians will keep it up?
Tonight, Robin is sending out the following guys to make home sweet:
Alejandro De Aza CF, Bacon 2B, Big Donkey DH, The King 1B, AJ Pierzynski C, Alex Rios RF, The Cuban Missile SS, The Cuban Tank LF, Eduardo Escobar 3B.
Gavin Floyd will start for the Sox tonight. Lately, Mr. Consistently Inconsistent has been pitching well.
His last few starts have resulted in him going 2-1 with a 1.71 ERA. The last start against the Tigers resulted in a no-decision. It could have been a loss (Gavin left with the score in Detroit’s favor), but Adam Dunn picked him up in tremendous ninth inning fashion.)
In his career against the Royals, Gavin is an abysmal 3-8 with a 4.59 ERA. At the Cell, he is slightly better with a 2-4 record and a 2.86 ERA.
Ned Yost is sending out the following guys to try carrying over some of the mojo of beating the Red Sox on to beating the White Sox:
Jarrod Dyson CF, Alex Gordon LF, Billy Butler DH, Eric Hosmer 1B, Jeff Francoeur RF, Mike Moustakas 3B, Chris Getz 2B, Alcides Escobar SS, Humberto Quintero C.
Felipe Paulino will start for the Royals. Paulino is fresh off the disabled list. His returning to the rotation sends Luis Mendoza to long relief for the team.
In his first start of the year, Paulino held the Yankees to six scoreless innings and the Royals went on to beat the Yankees by a final of 5-1. Career-wise, Paulino is 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA and 12 strikeouts against the White Sox.
